HOPE ABANDONED

50 CHILDREN ENGULFED HONOLULU, April 4. The police report that hope has been abandoned for the 50 school children who were swept out to sea at Hilo in Monday’s tidal wave. Onlookers saw the children rush to the benches when the ocean receded. A great wave, which looked as if the whole ocean had risen, moved to the shore and engulfed them, few getting away.
