Control of Water-courses

The current issue of the New Zealand Gazette records an Order-in-Council vesting in the Poverty Bay Catchment v>nnrd "all watercourses within the Poverty Bay catchment district, whether natural or constructed or hereeiier to be constructed, together with all machinery and appliances used therewith, but excepting therefrom all water-supply races and stock-races which at the date of this Order-m-Council are under the control of any local authority.” The direction takes effect from April 1, 1946. after which date the water-courses specified in the order will come under the exclusive care, control and management of the board.
