MCMULLEN BEATS DUNCAN (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, March 22. Alf. McMullen, 19.3, Wellington, beat Jack Duncan, lo.fi, Auckland, in a professional welter-weight boxing match which went the full 12 rounds last night. Duncan scored with left and right hooks, but left himself open, particularly to a good straight left from McMullen, who followed repeatedly with uppercuts. one of which floored Duncan in the eleventh round.
