OBITUARY
THE HON. F. E. LARK, M.L.C.
KEEN LABOUR SUPPORTER (P.A.) AUCKLAND, March 22. The death occurred yesterday of the Hon. F. E. Lark, M.L.C., who until his retirement through ill-health about eight months ago was secretary of the New Zealand Workers’ Union.
Mr. Lark was prominently associated with the Labour movement in Auckland and other parts of New Zealand
for many years. He is survived by his wife and by two sons and one daughter.
Born in Plymouth, England, Mr. Lark arrived in New Zealand in 1907 on 11.M.5. Encounter. He then left the service of the navy and went to Northern Wairoa and Waihi. He entered the railway service in 1914 at Thames and left it about 1920 to go farming at Matamata. There he took a great interest in school matters, being a member of the school committee, for a time as chairman. He was also a member of the Matamata Town Board. Mr. Lark went to Auckland about 1982.
