BEIRUT SHOPS CLOSE
SYMPATHY WITH EGYPT (.10 a.m.) LONDON. March 5. Shops in Beirut were closed to-day in sympathy with Egypt’s day of mourning, says Reuter’s correspondent. The Government issued Ihe warning during the day,’ however, that strikes and demonstrations would be prohibited from to-morrow. The statement said the people had already expressed their attitude toward ihe Egyptians and had shown fully their sympathy for Egyptian aspirations.
