The chairman of the Far East Economic Commission, Major-General McCoy, announced that the commission had completed three weeks’ survey of the Allied occupation of Japan and is sailing for the United States on February 1. says the New York HeraldTribune's correspondent in Tokyo. General MacArthur has ordered the Japanese Government to prepare 343.200 pounds of raw silk for early export. It will be shipped as soon as instructions arrive from Washington.

The Japanese Cabinet has decided to seek Allied co-operation in aiding the Japanese civilians who are_ stranded in Russian-occupied north Korea and Manchuria. According to Government figures, 2,000.000 Japanese are facing death from cold and starvation in camps which are strung along the railways.
