The secretary of the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce, Mr. M. J. White, last night- was authorised to attend a conference of chamber secretaries in Wellington next month. The many friends of Mr. R. A. Drayton, who is still an inmate of the Cook Hospital as the result of an injury received during his work, will be pleased to learn that h e is progressing favourably. Sister E. I. Lynn, assistant matron to the Cook Hospital, has been appointed matron of Queen Mary Hospital, Hanmer Springs. Her resignation, which will take effect as from February 28, was received with regret by the Cook Hospital Board on Tuesday.
