BASE IN ICELAND
REQUEST BY RUSSIA COPENHAGEN REPORT (10 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 30. Russia is seeking a base at Seydis Fjord, on the east coast of Iceland. This is reported by the Reykjavik correspondent of a Copenhagen newspaper. The Soviet is stated to have approached the Icelandic Government with a request to lease or lend the base for use as a 1 traffic harbour.” The North American Newspaper Alliance points out that possible United States bases in Iceland are still under discussion in Wasliinaton
