MUNICIPAL BRICKWORKS
(9 a.m.) SYDNEY, Jan. 31. Brickmakers are sceptical as to whether a municipal brickworks would facilitate home building. This follows the announcement by the Minister of Works and Local Government, Mr. J. Cahill, that the Local Government Act would be amended to permit the council to build brickworks. The Ryde Municipal Council seeks to enter the brickmaking field to speed up its housing scheme.
