Misses D. and G. Shearman and Miss Cagill, Christchurch, are the guests of Miss H, Redpath, Rnknuroa.—Miss Hayman, Opotiki, spent a few days in Matawai as the guest of Mrs. C. V. Smith,—Mrs. C. Davidson, who left Matawai for Tauranga eight years ago. paid a brief visit on her return from a three weeks’ holiday in Gisborne,—Mrs. C. Davy nnd her two small daughters returned to Hastings on Tuesday.—Miss A. A. Gibson nnd Anne Davy leave for Hawke’s Bay on Thursday. Two weddings of interest to Matawai people take place at St. Andrew's Church, Cobden street, Gisborne, on Wednesday and Thursday, those of Miss Davenport, and Mr. C. P. Jacobs, Sjoth former pupils of the Matawai school.

Mrs. J. Trnfford, Te Karnka, has a temporary appointment to the Matawai School.— Mr. and Mrs. Lunn, who have been spending a holiday in Hamilton, returned. oll Tuesday.
