MEAT PLANTS REOPEN
UNION ALTERS DECISION NEW YORK, Jan. 27. Reversing an earlier decision, the Meat Packers’ Union has ordered the resumption of work under the Government's operation of the meat plants. It is explained, however, that the strike against the owners is still effective. The union announced that the continuance of work will be dependent on assurances by the Secretary of Agriculture Mr. Anderson, that he will agk President Truman to apply any wage increase recommended by the factfinding board It is expected that the board will announce its findings within a week.
