WIN UNEXPECTED

SCOTS’ FIRST SUCCESS

MR FRASER AT MATCH (10 a.m) LONDON, Jan. 20. The Press Association says the New Zealanders are sportsmen as they were the first to congratulate the winners whose victory—the first Scotland has ever gained over a New Zealand team —was the outcome of sheer grit and perseverence. The Exchange Telegraph says the Scottish side hardly expected to give the Kiwis a decent game, but there was no sign of an'inferiority complex about the Scots when they took the field.

The New -Zealand Prime Minister. Mr. P. Fraser, and the new GovernorGeneral, Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Freyberg, attended the match.
