The Rev. Monsignor Mcßae, Wellington, is visiting his brother, Mr. C. Mcßae, Wahou. Included among tile guests at the Dick— Brown wedding, which took place in Napier on Tuesday evening, were the following from Wairoa: Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Withers; Mcsdames C. Pritchard and T. Harvey; Misses B. Harvey and B. Ebbitt; and Mr. P. Henderson. The newly-wed couple, who are very popular in Wairoa, were the guests at a number of social gatherings prior to their marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Wilson, Hamilton, are visiting relatives in Wairoa. Mr. N. Uinnan. who has been on Llic stag' of the Wairoa Power Board for ttie past nine years, has resigned in order to take up a position with the Bay of Islands Power Board, and he will leave next week for Kaikohe. Mrs. E. Habgood and her daughter, Mrs. J. Atkins, Gisborne, are visiting relatives at Wairoa. —Mr. E. Comerford, Wellington, is spending a holiday at Wairoa. Shortly before 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday the Wairoa Fire Brigade was called to the nurses’ homo at tho Wairoa Hospital, where an outbreak of fire had occurred. Apparently a spark in the boiler-house got into the wood box, and started a blaze. The outbreak was fought by persons at the hospital, and although the brigade was smartly oil the scene their services were not required, the fire having been brought under control. This war, the second outbreak at the homo in the last 12 months or so, but the damage on the first occasion was much greater. At the Wairoa Police Court yesterday Hirini Pliiti Tuhi, aged 20, a Maori labourer, was charged with breaking, entering and theft, two counts. The places entered were the garage owned by Mr. 0. licdsliaw and the Loan and Mercantile premises, theft being committed at each place. After hearing the evidence of Wrn. Redshaw, L. W. Ebbitt and Constable J. J. King, tho Bench committed the accused, who pleaded guilty, to the Supremo Court at Wellington for sentence. The presiding justices were Messrs. M. J. Geinmeil and A. Archibald, and Sergeant C. Mcßae prosecuted.
