MINISTERS AT LUNCH
RUSSIAN WORDS LEARNED
MOSCOW, Dec. 19. Mr. Bevin, Mr. Byrnes and M. Molotov lunched together at the Spiriionovskaya Palace in an informal and rordial gathering, says Reuter’s correspondent in Moscow. The luncheon pre:eded a regular session of the ThreePower Conference.
Mr. Bevin earlier saw the French and Chinese Ambassadors. Mr. Byrnes last night had a short private meeting with M. Molotov. It is understood that the atmosphere Bt all the meetings so far has been most Friendly, with much good-natured banter.
Mr. Byrnes has acquired four words |n Russian “Soglasen,” meaning “agreed”; "da” and "nyet,” meaning “yes” and “no,” and “khorosho,” meaning "good.”
Mr. Bevin has got as far as “da” and “nyet.”
M. Molotov understands a fair amount of English and uses “0.K.” and “good-bye.”
