John J. Brophy, .New Jersey taxidriver, has just received the biggest tip ever—so,ooo dollars. It was given by one of lus regular customers, Mr. E. L. Rupprccht, an executive of the vast E. L. Dupont dc Nemours Company, because Brophy helped him “escape the boredom o. talk about business, concerts and tinopera.” .. , ... Mr. Rupprecht, who died recently, used a taxi driven by Brophy at least twice a day and frequently called in to see Brophy and talk about his l'eal interests” —football, boxing and bascbanis will disclosed one-eighth of the estate had been left to Brophy, who was discharged from the army last year.
