ANCHORED OFF ROCK

(9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 19. A Gibraltar message says that the Pacific liner Duchess of Richmond, with homeward-bound troops and a Christmas leave party from Gibraltar, is anchored off the Rock owing to a gale and damage. No craft is able to approach her. The liner was blown against the mole after her start for Britain and was unable to re-enter Admiralty Harbour. ‘
