CLASH IN JAVA

ANGLO-INDIAN UNIT 80 INDONESIANS KILLED BANDOENG DEPARTURES (11 a.m.) BATAVIA, Dec. 18. The Allied troops counted 80 Indonesian dead after a clash outside Buitenzorg, Reuter’s correspondent says. The British and Indian columns engaged lost three Indian and other ranks killed and three wounded. One British officer and 25 Indian other ranks were slightly wounded. The Europeans and Eurasians have been evacuated from Bandoeng. It is reported that the Indonesians took away 32 of their number nine days ago. Nothing has since been heard of them. The Allied troops rescued the Swiss Consul and his wife, who were taken prisoner in .the Semarang area.
