SWIMMING CUP RACES
WATER POLO STARTED Features of the Gisborne Swimming Club's Monday night programme of events wore the CUP race. The 100yds. women's anil intermediate race, the only one for the McKinley Cup, was won by Miss It. Penny. "he ln 'st race for the Cookie Cup for Boys. 33),yd5. ; was won by N. Mangin. Two races for the bmale Cup, the 50yds.- final and the 100yds., went to Miss B. Penny and G. Foote respectively. Two junior teams made their first attempt at water polo later in the evening and although play was unorthodox' and team work generally lacking, both the audience and players alike enjoyed themselves.
