Majestic.—“ Desperadoes” and “Let’s Have Fun” conclude to-night. Two outstanding features commence to-morrow. The teeming, exciting life of the Barbary Coast ill the late nineties is the background for “Frisco Sal,” co-starring Susanna Foster, Turhan Bey and Alan Curtis. There are two types of minstrel shows shown on the screen in “Minstrel Man.” First is the 1929 version, which has no_ feminine entertainers; the climax of thß picture is reached in a present-day “revival,” which has beautiful chorines appearing with male dancers, all in burnt cork. Mickey Mouse Xmas Party: A special children’s programme will be screened on Thursday and Friday afternoons at 1.45. On the stage Miss Maureen Keany's pupil 3 present Mickey and Min with Father Xmas. The films include three Walt Disney cartoons, the full length feature, “Minstrel Man,” and the serial. Seats may be reserved at the Regent box office. King's.—" The Gentle Sex,” which commenced at the King’s yesterday, and which the late Leslie Howard directed, is the first feature film of the women in uniform in this war, and is filmed from the candid camera point of view on how women behave en masse in wartime conditions. Instead of a beauty salon setting, one lias the grim background of war. Regent.—" Mrs. Partington” continues to attract large and appreciative audiences to the Regent Theatre and the film is in the final two days of its season. Both Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeoit give memornhie performances in “Mrs. Partington,” as also do members of the fine supporting cast, which includes Edward Arnold and Agnes Moorhead. The featurettes arc of a very high standard.
