The Daily Express’ corresponaent in Jerusalem says that American oil interests will receive an important concession in November when the High Commissicner, Lord Gort, au.aerises the Trans-Arabian Pipe-line Company to “transport oil across Palestine and ship 1 The company intends to build 1200 miles of 24in. pipe-line from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean. The BritishAmerican oil pact gives equal facilities to British and American oil interest in the Middle East. The Colonial Office sanctioned the concession to the Americans for file Palestine ssC'ion and tne right of shipment from Haifa. The trans-Arabian pine-line will have a capacity of 300.000 barrels daily. Although British interests are not directly concerned in the trails-Arabian pipe-line, its Palestine terminal will make British-controlled Haifa one of the world's greatest oil ports.
