VISITING LONDON

GEN. FREYBERG PLANS FOR FAREWELL N.Z. TROOPS IN MID-EAST (Special Correspondent.) GO a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 23. Lieutenant - General Sir Bernard Freyberg, commander of the New Zealand Division, has gone to London, via Paris. He is attending the Alamein Day luncheon to-day at which Mr. Churchill and Field Marshal Montgomery will be present. He will receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Common Law at Oxford University.

On Thursday, he will be present with the New Zealand Army team's first match at Swansea on Saturday. He will fly to Egypt next Monday to farewell the New Zealanders and will attend the Alamein memorial service on November 9, after which he will farewell the New Zealanders throughout Italy. He will review the brigade which is due to sail for occupation duties in the Far East. On November 21, w r ith Field Marshal Alexander, he will be honoured by the Royal Empire Society in London.
