NEW £5 BANKNOTES

BANK OF ENGLAND ISSUE (10 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 23. New-type Bank of England £5 notes are now circulating. They are identical in size and colour with the old issue but the paper is much thicker and a metallic thread similar to that used in the pound sterling and 10s notes runs through the left-hand side.
