387 BRITISH VESSELS (9 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 22. The first Lloyds shipbuilding return since the outbreak of the war, issued to-day, shows that 387 merchant vessels of more than 100 tons and totalling 1,500,000 tons gross were building in Britain and Ireland on September 20. They include 241 steamers totalling 670,000 tons. Fifty-one tankers totalling 412,000 tons are also under construction.
