The Mayor of Auckland. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, left by air on Monday morning for America, to attend the conference in Washington on the Palestine question. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser, who has been indisposed for the last fortnight, has resumed his duties at Parliament House, Wellington. —S.R.) The Mayor, Mr. N. H. Bull, presided over last night’s meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council at which were also present Messrs. 11. 11. Do Costa, G. D. Muirhead, G. J. Jeune, H. F. Wise and R. Morse, and Dr. A. L. Singer. Mr. J. H. Hall, Gisborne Borough Council representative on the Waikanae Park Development Committee, was reappointed to this position for a further term by the council at its meeting last night.
