BURNS PROVE FATAL

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 28. Burns which later proved fatal were suffered by a six-month-old child, Marjorie Janet Hunter, daughter of Mr. G. Hunter, Port Chevalier road, when flames from a spirit stove ignited a cloth which had been placed over the child’s head. An inhalant was being heated on the stove. When the cloth caught alight it was removed from the child’s head, but the can of inhalant upset, burning both the mother and baby. The infant was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, where she died at an early hour yesterday morning.
