AUCKLAND VISIT
H.M.S. IMPLACABLE NEWEST CARRIER TYPE ARRIVAL AT SYDNEY (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Sept. 4. There is every prospect of Auckland being visited soon by one of the aircraft carriers of the British Pacific Fleet. The ship believed to be coming is H.M.S. Implacable, which recently arrived at Sydney after operations in Japanese waters. The Implacable is one of Britain's, newest fleet carriers. She was ordered before the war, laid down in 1939 and completed only about two years ago. She is one of three ships of the Indomitable class, the others being the Indomitable and the Indefatigable, and is an improvement on the three ships of the Illustrious class, these being the Illustrious, the Victorious, and the Formidable.
