DEATH DEMANDED
VIDKUN QUISLING ‘EVIL-MINDED TREASON’ PROSECUTOR SUMS UP LONDON, Aug. 31. “Quisling is guilty of the most farreaching and most evil-minded acts of treason in Norwegian history,” said the public prosecutor in summing up at the trial of Quisling. The evidence had shown that Quisling had collaborated with the Germans both before and after the invasion of Norway and did nothing to prevent the ill-treatment of Jews which shocked the world. Quisling frequently interrupted the proceedings with complaints of alleged ill-treatment by the police while he was in gaol which he said “would be enough to break the spirit of a lesser man.” The judge told Quisling that prisoners were infinitely worse treated during the German occupation.
