GEN. SLIM’S COMMAND
SOUTH-EAST ASIA ARMIES GEN. DEMPSEY’S NEW POST (11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 2. The War Office announced that General Sir William Slim has succeeded
General Sir Oliver Leese as commander of the Allied land forces in South East Asia. Lieutenant-General Dempsey wil ltake over command of the 14th Army. '
