Y.M.C.A. Bays' Week

On Monday the boys’ week sponsored by the Y.M.C.A. committee will commence with visits for High School and Intermediate School boys to principal industrial and public-service institutions in the town. This is an annual project, and is assisted by various kindred organisations of the district. The Junior Chamber of Commerce has arranged for a team of its members to conduct parties on visits to tile Gisborne Gas Company’s works, the Gisborne Refrigerating Company’s Haiti works, the Olritu Co-operative Dairy Company’s plant, and the telephone exchange. The “Jaycees” also have raised finance to cover the expenses of the project, and members will assist personally in other ways. Later, tile Gisborne Thirty Thousand Club will convene a boys’ conference on citizenship, with a view to increasing juvenile interest in community activities.
