A request for permission to move a military hut to a site on the corner c f Lowe Street and Read’s .Qum Weis ' fttvoip' o b!:r meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council last, night. The annUmUm-' v.’as made by the registrar of the NT'-mo 1.-inp Court in Gisborne on behalf of tho Gisborne Maori Comauired n but from the former camp at the Poho-o-Rawiri pa for use as a depot for purposes raisin.-* I'-’nH-to welcome home returnin'* Maori servicemen from overseas. The committee intended placing the hut in the vacant section on the corner of Lowe Street and Read’s Quay, and using it as a bring-nnd-buv centre. The council's approval for the use of the site was granted.
