FOOD FOR GERMANS

BRITISH AND U.S. RATIONS

ISSUE IN EMERGENCY LONDON, July 1

British and American rations will prevent millions of Germans in the Ruhr starving next winter, according to the German press in the Britishoccupied zone. Several trainloads of food from Antwerp have arrived at Essen for distribution, if necessary, to workers. The food will be given to civilians only if the anticipated famine conditions exist in which case it would be necessary in the interests of everybody to prevent the food crisis becoming worse.
