VAN HORN BEATS TILDEN (11 n.'m.) . -NEW YORK, July 1. Welby van Horn, who six years ago beat John Bromwich (Australia), Sabin and Cooke to reach the final of the American amateur tennis championships, defeated W. J. Tihlen, 6—o, 6—o. 6 —l, in the semi-final of the national professional championships. Van Horn hammered out his victory in a few minutes, producing almost errorless tennis. Van Horn meets John O’Grady in the final on Monday.
