TRAIN ABLAZE
CRASH INTO RAVINE MORpCCAN~ DISASTER FROM; 50 TCM 00 DEATHS (By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (9 a.irr.) PARIS, June 9. Between 50 and 100 were killed in French Morocco when a Maknes-Fex express train was derailed last Sunday just north of Maknes. The victims included several French soldiers going on leave. The accident is reported to have occurred when the driver halted the train to try to rescue a child who had been electrocuted while playing near a high tension wire. The driver tailed tp brake the train when he left the cab'. It rolled back down hill, attaining over 100 miles an hour before derailing and plunging to the bottom of a deep ravine. Several cars of petroleum caught fire and the whole train was soon blazing. None of the victims-has yet been identified.
The driver and conductor are reported to be under arrest. An investigation is proceeding.
