DR. EVATT’S ADVOCACY (11 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, June 29. The need for a free press policy in the future world peace organisation was stressed by Dr. H. V. Evatt in an interview. He claimed that the most important and best decisions of UNCIO were made- when the public were represented through the press. “A healthy exposure of international problems and those leading to disputes was essential to neutralise the virus of war,” said Dr. Evatt. ‘‘lt is through complete and immediate freedom of access for the press to the working of the new world organisation that it will find the lifeblood needed to survive—popular faith, goodwill and support.”
