OBITUARY
MRS. A. D. MCDONNELL (
The death occurred on Sunday at Ruawai, North Auckland, of a former well-known Gisborne resident. Mrs. Amelia Doras McDonnell, at the age of G 5 years. She had been ailing for some time. Mrs. McDonnell was born in Blenheim, and was a dauehter of Mr. Thomas Neal, whose family was wellknown in Spring Creek. She was married in Blenheim in 1899 to Mr. John McDonnell, and they spent the first six years of their married life at Spring Creek, later moving to the West Coast and farming there for several years. Early in the century Mr. and Mrs. McDonnell moved to Gisborne, and took up residence in Kaiti, but after three years there they moved to the Ototo station at Lower Waiaua. Opotiki, where Mrs. McDonnell spent 30 years. Her husband died two years ago. and at the time of her death she was living with a son at Ruawai. Her family comprises Mr. Thomas McDonnell, serving overseas, Mrs. V. Williams, Opotiki. and Mr. John McDonnell, Ruawai. There are 11 grandchildren.
