IT’S ELEMENTARY
HATS are not an accessory such as shoes and gloves and bags, and so forth. Hats are ornaments to be put on top of the hair, accents within which to frame our faces ... Of course, men have a perfect right to say that a hat is crazy or it isn’t crazy . . . it’s the man’s money that pays for the hat. He has a private interest in it. There is no argument that “Hats make women more attractive,” it is a flat statement . . . If a girl gets her hat first, then she will get her man, her job, or whatever is on her mind to get. A real good hat on the head is the cream in the coffee, the frosting on the cake . . . Then there was Eleanor Roosevelt, of course, She has publicly stated to the press that gay and frivolous hats help the morale of the nation . . . Harper’s said “Now girls, get your hat, then you get your man.” Vogue says, “Girls, a hat that does things to you will do things to that man.” So Girls, get a Hat, and get it at . . .
