Possibly encouraged by the advent °j cheap electric power from the Cobb River a few weeks ago. the Nelson Progress League has issued a large brochure, beautifully illustrated with photographs .to give publicity to the many industries of the district and its attractions for settlers from outside, particularly people who would undertake fruit or tobaccogrowing. T!ie league presents some remarkable facts about the procluctiyeness of those areas in the district which have been developed [or diversued small tanning, and the astonishing increases that have been made m then- productivity during the past 30 years or so by the close application of science in soil analysis study o! plant varieties, and control of minci a! deficiencies, blights and insect pests.
