CAROLINES GROUP U.S. INFANTRY UNITS (9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan. 7. American infantry units oil January 2 occupied Faisi Island, eastward of Ulithi, in the Carolines, reports a Pacific Fleet communique. It was a mopping-up operation. Resistance was" slight. Eight Japanese were killed and six captured. Three Americans were killed.
