NEW RIG FOR “TOMMY”

OCCUPATION UNIFORMS LONDON. Every soldier in the British Army of Occupation in Germany has been ordered a brand new uniform by the Government. Within the last few days secret meetings of clothing manufacturers have been called by the Ministry of Supply in London and the main provincial clothes-making centres. Government spokesmen askecl the manufacturers to make the best possible effect to rush through special uniform orders that are to be given out almost immediately. So urgent are the orders that employees who would otherwise have been called up will lor the present be unofficially reserved. It may be decided to give the army open neck battle-dress with collar and lie similar to the R.A.F. Regiment.
