U.S. BOMBER RAIDS
LOSSES ON THE YANGTSE (9 a.m.) CHUNGKING. Jan. 2. The 14th U.S. Air Force attacked shipping near Hankow yesterday, destroying three enemy heigh lers on the Yangtse River. The aircraft also sank a Japanese freighter and left another burning oil Hainan Island, says'an American Army communique. The American airmen attacked railway yards in the Tangling Lake area, destroying three locomotives and damaging seven others.
