SERVICES TO SCHOOL

LATE MR C. H. BULL Tributes to the services rendered to the Gisborne High School by the late secretary of the board of governors, Mr. C. H. Bull, and the former lady superintendent of the rectory, Mrs. E. L. Adams, were paid by the rector, Mr. J. Leggat, in his annual report presented at the school breaking-up ceremony last night. The cieath of Mr. Bull early in the I year, Mr. Leggat said, ended a period !of service to the school which had iastcd a generation. "For my part I can never forget Mr. Bull's kindness to me when I arrived,’’ he added. ‘‘He was sympathetic and helpful, and his advice discerning and wise. Ido not think any other secondary school has had a secretary who so identified himself with its progress. He was always interested in the activities of the school and no matter was too trivial ior his personal attention.” The speaker concluded that whatever the subsequent history of the school might be, the name of Mr. Bull would always be prominent in its annals. The school, and the rectory in particular, said Mr. Leggat, had suffered a loss by the death of Mrs. Adams. She had looked on the boarders as her own family and was diligent inassuring their comfort and happiness. Her presence was greatly missed rrom school functions, which she had so often helped to arrange.
