French Finance Minister, over the Limoges radio. “We shall not be so foolish as at the end of the last war. We snail not ask for marks, which will be mysteriously frozen for many years. We shall be paid with good hard tangible things, such as coal from the Saar and Ruhr, and with locomotives that we will make the Germans build for us if we cannot find our own.
