CLOSING DECEMBER 15 H.B. BOARD’S DECISION (S.R.) NAPIER. Dec. 5. The chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board, Mr. G. A. Msddison, announced to-day that further consideration had been given by the board to the closing date for primary schools this year. After full consideration of representations made to the board from various sources, and having regard in particular to the difficulties of travel, it has now. been decided that all primary schools in the Hawke’s Bay Education Board district will close for the summer vacation at 3 p.m. on Friday. December 15. The chairman added that this decision did not represent any shortening of the school year as fixed by the regulations. Because the school terms had begun on Mondays, instead of on Tuesdays, as in some districts, the board had been able to authorise the closing three days earlier ami still comply with the statutory requirements. ,
