FISH LICENSES

BUREAU'S REFUSAL APPEAL NOW LIKELY The possibility that an appeal would be lodged against the recent decision of the Bureau of Industry in respect of Mr. F. G. Kerr’s application for a wholesale fish license was mentioned at the meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council last evening. The council decided that an endeavour should be made to secure the hearing of any appeal at Gisborne. The fish committee of the council reported that it had met to consider what further steps should be taken regarding the Bureau of Industry's decision not to grant _ additional wholesale licenses for Gisborne. “It is understood that Mr. Kerr, one of the applicants, intends appealing on his own behalf, and your committee recommends that in the meantime no further action be taken other than the council lending its support to Mr. Kerr’s appeal,” stated the report.
