BARONETCY ENDED

MELBOURNE, Oct. 13. The death of Mr. Frank Stapley, at the age of BG, at South Yarra, extinguished a baronetcy which had existed in England since IGGO. When his brother. Sir Harry Staplcy. died in 192 G, Alderman Stapley, as lie then was, inherited the baronetcy but decided not to assume the title. In 1901 he was elected to Melbourne City Council, and later was elected an alderman. He was Lord Mayor in 1917-13.
