GOEBBELS SPEAKS loss of Territory ‘‘A RACeToR TIME” LONDON, Oct. 27. Germany to-day stands almost where sne stood in 1939, and the loss Ox territory which the Germans captured in 1940 is causing a great deal ox worry in Berlin, said Di\ Goebbels, broadcasting to the Germans over the Berlin radio. ‘ The events of the past three months have changed the whole aspect ox the war. They have changed it partly to our disadvantage and also partly in our favour. “Our enemies’ great hope has not been fulfilled; we haven’t broken down under their all-out military and propagandist onslaughts. Our fronts west, east and south are still exu.
to enormous pressure, but we cannot be deflected from our unshakeable resolve to fight on until peace can be attained —a peace safeguarding our right to a life of national independence and expansion. A race for time is on our hands and, as things stand, we have every chance of winning it.” Dr. Goebbels again claimed that Germany was fighting to save Europe from Bolshevism. He said the Allied air war was at present causing most worry. However, the Germans were working hard to defeat the air terror and were producing new squadrons of fighters, bombers, and also new weapons.
