NEW SOUTH WALES’ PITS DISPUTE-FREE WEEK (Bv Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright.) (10 a.m.) CANBERRA. Sept.. 16. All mines in New South Wales were working again yesterday _ and the week’s coal production will exceed even last week’s record total. Last week about 8000 tons of coal were lost because of stoppages, but this week only 2500 tons have been lost. The coalfields have now been practically free from disputes for three weeks. In the House of Representatives, the Minister for Supply. .Mr. J. A. Beasley, said that of 429 New South Wales miners called up for military service because of absenteeism 348 had been discharged after varying periods. In 1941 the mines lost 404,520 days’ work through, stoppages, in- 1942 226,229 days and in 1943 335,787 days.
