ANTARCTIC RESEARCH
RADIO TRANSMISSION GO a.m.) LONDON. Sept. 7. An improvement in radio transmission between Britain. New Zealand and Australia is one of the aims influencing yie Government's decision to send early in October a second expedition to the Antarctic to reinforce a small party of administrative officers and scientists under Lieutenant-Comman-der Marr who, since April, has been conducting research and survey work.
Lieutenant-Commander Marr reported favourably on the possibility, first, of the early resumption and development of whaling; secondly, the establishment of radio stations for more accurate weather forecasts: thirdly, the establishment of a special station for the improvement of radio transmission between Britain, New Zealand and Australia and the exploitation of mineral products.
