Gisborne’s Air Traffic

Up to the time when war exigencies suspended the air service • between Gisborne, Napier and Palmerston North, the average number of people travelling from Napier southward was two per day, whereas on the air link between Napier and Gisborne the average was eight per day from Napier. Passenger traffic between Palmerston North and Gisborne totalled 1205 per year, on the average, and Air Department estimates show that- this number should increase to 7066 by 1947.
