AXIS SHIPS HELD UP R.A.F. PLANES' SUCCESS (10 a.m.) RUGBY, April 20. The mining of the Danube, which is carried but by R.A.F. Wellingtons and Liberators based in Italy, is a major, blow in the air campaign to disrupt the enemy’s supply routes to southern Russia, writes, an air correspondent. These operations have been carried out over several nights and were co-ordinated with attacks on the enemy’s Balkans communications. The Hungarian and Rumanian shipping companies, it was announced on Monday by the Bucharest radio, have suspended all traffic on the river on account of the mines. They have already lost one large river ship and some smaller vessels.
